This site is a personal web site that started as a hobby and still is! I have a strong passion for my faith and so believe in sharing it with others. I do believe that God has blessed me with great talents and I need to use my talents to glorify Him.
I have been a practicing Catholic since April 26, 2004 and was baptized at Stella Maris Catholic Church. I have been going to Catholic churches since birth (Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and then Stella Maris Catholic Church) and had a burning desire to become a practicing Catholic after I got married in February 2002. Now I am an active member in my parish – Reader, Sunday School Coordinator(until 2013), Liturgical Committee, completed my course as a Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion in 2012, a member of the Diocese of Kingston’s Evangelization Commission and Communication Commission – and I’m now doing a course at St. Michael’s Theological Collage to become a Lay Minister.
This site is not an official site of the Catholic Church. As a layman, and as a private apostolate, it does not require the approval or supervision of the Church. However, I take great pains to ensure that nothing which promotes disobedience or dissent is to be found on the site. I take very seriously the Lord’s admonition that it would be better to have millstones around our necks than lead the innocent (or ignorant) into error. If you want a site that will give “both sides” of an argument, then this site isn’t for you. This site wants to show you the brilliance and the splendor of Catholicism.
My aim for this site is to be a place of daily devotion, articles, prayer requests, a resource for RCIA and Sunday School, and for the sharing of testimonies. A place where Catholics and non-Catholics alike can come and learn about scripture.
Visiting this site is free (and always will be!). However, there are costs involved in running the site and keeping it live. I don’t have a staff like some of the other Catholic sites on the web and, so, I ask you to be patient if this site isn’t updated as frequently as theirs. I do believe God has truly blessed me, so the cost to run this site is nothing compared to the cost He paid for my sins.
There is only one payment I ask of you. Please always keep me and my family – Merrick, Craig, Christian and Abigail DaCosta, in your prayers and ask God to bless our efforts with this site. Pray that it reaches the people who most need or want to learn the information we link to.
And one other thing, Don’t keep this site a secret! If you love this site, then tell someone about it! Put a note about us in your parish newsletter or use the “tell a friend!” link at the top of each page to email your friends about how great this site is!
